The Mission of Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation is to improve the quality of life of persons in its service area by empowering them economically, politically and socially through homeownership, employment training and through access to financial resources.

The history of Tierra del Sol Housing Corporation begins with the purpose of helping rural New Mexicans achieve “the goal of a decent home and a suitable living environment.” From self-help housing, rural farm labor rental housing, senior congregate housing, to supportive housing for the elderly and the disabled, to LIHTC limited partnership owned mixed housing, to affordable homeownership in urban neighborhoods, major subdivision and real estate developments, Tierra del Sol Housing Corporation has brought to successful fruition the idea, fulfilled the dream, and achieved the goal that was encompassed in its formation in 1973.

Self-Help Housing Program allows families to participate directly in the construction of their own homes. A program of comprehensive services that include pre-qualification for loans, pre-purchase counseling, homebuyer education classes, post purchase counseling, and credit counseling.

The Homeownership Preservation Program is Intended to provide extended direct services that will allow a homeowner to avoid foreclosure or mitigate housing losses. Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation will provide the level of housing counseling services appropriate to the homeowners needs.
• Counsel homeowners on available loss mitigation options and identify options most suited to the homeowners needs and capacity to maximize home retention.
• Refer homeowners who are sued for foreclosure to the New Mexico Legal Aid defense.
• Assistance through HOPE Loan Portal, in preparing and submit.
